Puredata

Random Symphony in rythm. from Didier Ducrocq on Vimeo.

This is an example of a random music I use in my interactive video installations.
Using Pure data, Vienna Symphonic Library and Ableton live.

Everything is random. Nothing has been record. There's 4 voices, violins, alti, cellos, and bass. the time base is the second. the pure data programmation choose (random) for each voice a timing in seconds, between 0,25 , 0,50 , 1 , 2 , and 4. After that, the pitch, dynamic and lenght are random. I've put a random for modulation because in VSL, the modulation is the "glissando". I've put also a random for 5 (low) pitch, which corresponds in VSL to key switch for articulations. Pure data (using intern IAC) commands the VSL vst instrument in Ableton live.
